Job Title: Tax Manager
Job Location: Reading, UK
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions and other tax-related activities, ensuring all internal and external tax filings are timely and accurate (Corporate tax filings are completed by external advisor; Payroll managed by HR).
- Engage and manage the provision of taxation compliance and consultancy services by external advisers.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams, such as finance, legal and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination on tax matters.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Contribute towards maintenance and enhancement of relationship with HMRC in relation to the company’s tax affairs and engage proactively with BRR+ process.
- Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries and notices from tax authorities.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations in UK and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities for the organisation. Where appropriate, raise awareness of, and communicate changes or developments affecting the businesses.
- Assist with the review and updating of tax systems, procedures & policies and support any tax process improvement projects where required.
- Keep the CFO appraised of key tax matters
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in tax management or a similar role in UK, preferably within a large corporation or public accounting firm.
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA) is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to share experience and knowledge
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent command of the English. Mandarin is a plus
- Ability to work and contribute as an effective team player in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Ability to self-manage, multi-task, and learn new skills quickly.
- Ability to work in a multi-culture environment.
