Job Title: Junior OSS Engineer / Cloud and Network Operations Engineer (Intern)

Job Location: Milan (Italy)

Main Responsibilities:

• Drive end-to-end project delivery from design and testing to field implementation, customer training, and ongoing maintenance for national/international ISPs (Internet Service Providers).
• Manage cloud infrastructure projects according to project manager requirements, ensuring timely execution and smooth communication across teams. Oversee deployment, upgrades, and testing of cloud-based systems, providing technical support and resolving issues during implementation.
• Handle firmware upgrades, system configurations, and hardware setup (storage, servers, switches) to ensure robust cloud infrastructure.
• Support network management functions, including planning, maintenance, and monitoring of devices, ensuring optimal network performance and reliability. Gain expertise in OSS/BSS architectures and contribute to the company's all-in-house developed NMS technology, from R&D to field implementation, addressing local project challenges.
• Automate business and network functions, monitor operational and performance data, and proactively address issues to ensure optimal system functionality. Support business functions like product, customer, order, and inventory management, helping ISPs deliver better customer service.
• Leverage a proven success story by contributing to the design, delivery, and maintenance of NMS systems, which have enabled national ISPs to successfully monitor ICT service interconnections across government, university, industry, and end-user networks for over 20 years.
• Provide training and post-implementation support to customers on cloud infrastructure, ensuring smooth adoption and continuous support.
• Monitor network performance and availability, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Fresh graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, such as Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline, graduating between January 2024 and December 2026.
• Strong understanding of hardware, firmware, and software, with hands-on experience in mission-critical installations (physical, virtual, cloud) in customer edge datacenters.
• Knowledge in project management, quality assurance, and network operations, with proficiency in automating business and network functions, monitoring performance, and resolving issues.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and manage tasks effectively.
• Adaptability to work in an international business environment, demonstrating excellent collaboration skills and cultural awareness.
• Language Requirements: Good command of spoken English and fluent in Italian.
