Job Title: Chief Accountant
Job Location: Vilnius, Lithuania
Main Responsibilities:
- Interpret and Communicate Accounting Policies: Stay abreast of local accounting policies, promptly identify any changes or new disclosure requirements, and effectively communicate these updates to accounting personnel. Adapt policies as necessary to align with new or modified business scenarios.
- Provide Accounting Guidance: Offer solutions and improvement suggestions for common or straightforward business scenarios, transactions, contracts, agreements, and analysis reports, focusing on the accounting policies of a specific country or region.
- Manage Statutory Audit Requirements: Oversee statutory audit requirement management, foster a mutual trust environment, manage audit procedures, assess and mitigate audit risks, and handle audit report signing and filing processes.
- Interpret External Regulatory Requirements: Interpret the requirements of external regulators or stakeholders concerning financial report data. Provide accurate solutions and data to external parties to ensure proper and accurate use of financial report information.
- Analyze and Resolve Financial Report Issues: Analyze monthly financial reports to identify any anomalies or issues. Track and resolve these issues promptly to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
- Prepare Tax Calculations and Filings: Prepare tax calculations and filings, including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT) using the Standard Audit File for Tax (SAF-T), Withholding Tax (WHT), and other relevant taxes. Collaborate with external consultants, internal accountants, and operational staff to ensure accurate tax filings and the design and implementation of tax arrangements.
- Promote Tax Awareness: Raise tax awareness within the organization by providing training to various business departments, advising on and monitoring tax implications related to business projects, liaising closely with local tax authorities, managing tax controls and audits, and offering guidance and technical suggestions during tax audit cases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance and at least 5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience as international auditor or chief accountant in large enterprises will be a plus.
- Familiarity with Lithuania accounting standards and IFRS, accounting qualification certificate is preferred.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Lithuanian and English.
- Teamwork spirit and ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Motivated and able to work across an international and multi-cultural team.
- Work from the office in Vilnius.
