Job Title: Junior Legal Counsel
Job Location: Budapest, Hungary
Main Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the legal compliance with local laws of the company’s consumer business activity, including e-commerce, competition law, marketing materials, electronic products access compliance, GDPR, ESG..
• reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of contractual documents, including Distribution agreements, Sales contracts, Marketing campaign agreements, NDAs, and supplier agreements, etc.
• Legal Advice and Support: Provide timely and accurate legal advice to CBG business departments (e.g., online sales, marketing, retail, service) and propose solutions for legal issues in daily operations.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Assist in handling compliance matters related to consumer protection, data privacy (GDPR), advertising law, competition law, etc., and identify and assess potential legal risks.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with regional legal teams, headquarters legal departments, and other internal functions (e.g., finance, tax, HR) to ensure business activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
• Legal Research: Monitor and research the latest developments in relevant Hungarian and EU laws and regulations, and assess their impact on business operations.
• Document Management: Establish and maintain legal documentation archives to ensure proper custody of all legal documents.
Requirements:
• 1-3 years legal work experience. Experience in the technology industry, consumer goods sector, or law firms is preferred. Outstanding fresh graduates may also be considered.
• Familiarity with Hungarian commercial law, contract law, consumer protection law, etc. Knowledge of EU data privacy laws (GDPR) is an advantage.
• Fluent in Hungarian and English (both written and spoken) as working languages.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills together with a strong business sense required.
• Ability to handle both routine and general legal matters.
• Ability to effectively deliver sound and clear legal advice in a business setting.
• Computer skills required: proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Optimistic, patient, precise and stress tolerant behavior and good skills of communication.
