Senior Compliance Counsel
This role is part of Huawei’s Compliance Subsidiary Board Directors Management team. It's a fixed-term Huawei contract for 24 months, with the possibility of renewal.

Job Title: Senior Compliance Counsel
Job Location: Düsseldorf, Germany
Main Responsibilities:
The Senior Compliance Counsel will act as a strategic advisor to business units and lead key pillars of the compliance framework. This role will independently manage complex risk assessments, oversee high-priority investigations, and design mitigation strategies for high-risk business initiatives.
• Contract & Transaction Support: Review, draft and negotiate complex compliance clauses in major commercial contracts.
• Regulator Interface: Assist in preparing responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, or enforcement actions.
• Strategic Advisory: Provide definitive, risk-adjusted legal advice to product, operations, and executive teams on complex regulatory matters.
• Program Design & Risk Assessment: Design and implement compliance frameworks for new products, market expansions, or business lines.
• Investigations Management: Lead sensitive internal investigations regarding potential compliance breaches, document findings, and recommend remedial actions.
Requirements:
• Completed both German State Examinations (1. and 2. Juristisches Staatsexamen), qualifying as a Volljurist / Volljuristin.
• 5–8 years of experience, preferably with a mix of top-tier law firm training and in-house compliance experience.
• Proven track record of handling internal investigations and conducting comprehensive corporate risk assessments.
• Strong emotional intelligence and stakeholder management skills to influence business leaders without direct authority.
